Nation of Language – In Your Head

Nation of Language delivers their most feral moment yet with “In Your Head,” the latest preview from Dance Called Memory, dropping September 19th via Sub Pop. The Brooklyn trio—Ian Richard Devaney, Aidan Noell, and Alex MacKay—channel natural exposure through frenetic production that feels distinctly human in an AI-dominated era.

Producer Nick Millhiser (LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost!) returns after working on 2023’s Strange Disciple, helping the band lean into Brian Eno’s school of synthesized humanity over Kraftwerk’s calculated coldness. Devaney’s operatic vocals leap across jagged post-punk arrangements illuminated by Human League-style synths, creating something that fills rooms quite pleasantly.

“In Your Head” follows radio single “Inept Apollo,” which hit #18 on Billboard’s chart, plus previous standouts “I’m Not Ready for the Change” and “Under the Water.” Each track showcases the band’s evolution from their 2020 debut Introduction, Presence through recent acclaim for Strange Disciple.

The 51-date international tour kicks off tomorrow, including three hometown album release shows at Warsaw and major appearances at London’s Roundhouse and Berlin’s Columbiahalle.
